Emma Hardy was born in Lincolnshire, England. She earned a BA honors in Sculpture at the Wimbledon School of Art in London. Emma traveled extensively before marrying and settling in Colorado USA where she has resided for the past 25 years. She has 2 wonderful sons, 18 and 21 and she currently lives in Jamestown, CO
Emma is a practicing Artist employing mixed medium from paper to bronze. In the past few years, she’s been concentrating on a sculpture technique that she developed using paper. Most recently she been making large-scale works using recycled and waste materials with a finish layer of recycled paper.
In 2016 Emma was asked to go to San Diego CA to facilitate an art piece with company employees at Dr. Bronner's soap company. This turned out to be an amazing experience for Emma and the team. She was invited back in 2017 and worked on 2 more pieces with them, please see "Firebird in the making" and the "Nataraja". She is currently working with Dr. Bronner's on ideas for the 2018 build.
Emma has been the recipient of numerous grants and commissions over the past 15 years and has had works shown nationally.
Due to the 2013 Colorado flooding, Emma had to take a break from her work. during that time she received a grant from Martha Kate Thomas Fund for Artists and a Kick-Starter fundraiser at the Eldorado art center. She is now back in Jamestown.
