I’m very interested in architecture: finding one element from a building and repeating it until it tells me, “stop I have had enough”. Essentially, I strip architecture to its barest structure - to its “skeleton”. My process initiates by starting with a simple form; and through repetition, emphasizing the simple beauty of this initial shape. In addition to the strength, grace, and sense of movement that my artwork exudes; it would also be enjoyed for the shadow it casts – something that would move, and interact with the surrounding space as time passes. Thus, serving as a reminder for the relationship between The Cambria Entrance Structure and its visitors (again, representing natures relationship with the surrounding community).

My work incorporates singular forms and materials found in architecture. My process begins with stripping architecture down to its most basic structure, its skeleton. I enjoy using building materials as they are perhaps taken for granted due to their abundance. I isolate a singular form and through repetition emphasize the simple beauty of that one shape. My work strives to express the collaboration and relationship between the built world and nature. I believe these two opposite environments can coexist harmoniously.
