Located in Arlington, Virginia, the Pentagon Memorial is dedicated to the memory of 184 victims of the September 11th tragedies. Individual units are organized by the victim’s ages, ranging from three to seventy-one, representing the ages of the lives lost. With the help of a team of artists comprising the 911 Pentagon Memorial Team, specialty molds were produced for the fabrication of the basin component. Molds were shipped to Arban & Carosi who used them to create the original pieces. The outcome is an individual unit for each victim, serving as a permanent place for his or her name as well as place to sit and reflect. The overarching goal of the memorial was to capture the attention of all who visit, whether it’s for ten minutes or several hours.
