Olive Pizza - Public Mosaics

Creator not accepting inquiries

"I used to live in the neighborhood where this mural is and I approached Pasquale’s Pizzeria because I liked them. I liked their pizza and I liked the ambiance inside the restaurant but the outside was dull. They agreed to fund a mosaic! This is one of my personal favorites of my work, probably because the client had no suggestions of subject matter or color requests, or anything. Basically I had complete artistic liberty and they were good with it. I enjoyed bringing parts of the mosaic beyond the borders, "out of the box”! The mosaic really enhances the entryway and brings a sense of fun to the restaurant’s overall image" said artist Delaine Hackney.

Olive Pizza is a 5′ x 1.6′ mural made from ceramic, glass & found objects. Created by portrait artist and muralist Delaine Hackney, this piece embellishes the exterior facade of Pasquale's Pizzeria Restaurant in San Francisco.
