The City of Salina commissioned Andrea Fuhrman to create the design for the 11’ x 36’ Mexican Byzantine smalti glass mosaic mural at Kenwood Cove Water Park. The company, Mosaika Inc. fabricated and installed it, based on Andrea Fuhrman's design.

A scholarship recipient, Fuhrman earned her MFA from Washington University and BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. While an undergraduate at SAIC, she won a Union League Civic & Arts Scholarship. As a graduate student at Washington University in St. Louis, Fuhrman won a Liquitex Product Grant, was invited to exhibit at Greenville College, IL and exhibited at Chicago's Textile Arts Centre Fiber '94 juried by Anne Wilson. Fuhrman was invited to exhibit in Barat College's Matter of the Body, 1994. Fuhrman won First Place, Fine Arts, at Smoky Hill River Festival, Salina, KS 2007, and had won Second Place, St. Louis Art Fair in 1994, its inaugural year.

Fuhrman has exhibited at AIR Gallery, Chelsea, NYC ; the Center for Contemporary Art, Locus Gallery, and Mad Art Gallery, all in St. Louis; Lawrence Arts Center, KS; Salina Art Center, KS; Strecker-Nelson Gallery, Manhattan, KS; Pence Gallery, Davis, CA; ArtCentric, Corvallis, OR; Julie Baker Fine Art, Grass Valley, CA; the IL Lake County Discovery Museum Postcard Art Exhibition. She was a founding member of St. Louis Venus Envy exhibition.

She has exhibited at the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery in Lindsborg, KS and the Steifel Watson Gallery, the Kansas City Artist Coalition, and KS Wesleyan University. Fuhrman's textile piece "Snarl" is included in Apron Strings Ties to the Past, Exhibits USA, Mid-America Arts Alliance. Emprise Bank, Wichita, acquired Fuhrman's photographs and collages for their notable art collection. The City of Salina commissioned a digital photo work of Fuhrman's, which has been translated into a 36' x 11' Mexican Byzantine smalti glass mosaic mural for the Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park - which opened 2010.
Fuhrman was adjunct faculty at St. Louis Community College, initiated Siteman Cancer Center's Arts As Healing program. She presents workshops and slide lectures nationally. Fuhrman was awarded artist-in-residencies at the Julia and David White Foundation in Costa Rica and The Art and Culture Center, Kolin Ryynänen, Joensuu, Finland. Nationally, Fuhrman has attended artist residencies at UCROSS, and Jentel, both in WY; the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, Taos, NM, Edna St. Vincent Millay Colony, Austerlitz, NY, Studios Midwest, Galesburg, IL and Red Barn Studio, Lindsborg, KS.

In 2008, Fuhrman was one of six artists participating in Salina Art Center's Artist Exchange program that culminated in an exhibit of her photographs and digital slide show in 2009. Salina Arts and Humanities in Salina, KS commissioned Ms. Fuhrman to create the Smoky Hill River Festival photographic diptych print for 2013 and a collage based print in 2017. Storm Cellar, a literary journal included a photo image by Fuhrman for their late winter #6.2 edition. The inaugural issue of Fresh Paint Magazine featured Fuhrman's paintings and photographs. Images from the magazine were projected on the 16' x 22 'Media Wall (pixel video screen) at Commerce Square, Market Street, Philadelphia, PA. The National Railroad Museum, Green Bay WI featured Fuhrman's graffiti photographs and film from January 31, 2014 through December 2015. Kansas City Artists Coalition had selected Ms. Fuhrman for a solo exhibit in the Underground Gallery May 9th - June 20, 2014. Ms. Fuhrman participated in Embracing Nature: a group exhibit at the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery in mid September - November 2014. Her work was shown in Wichita, KS in 2015 at CityArts, where she won second place, juried by Brian Hinkle. She exhibited her collages at Diver Studio, Wichita, KS in 2016. She was included in Kansas City Artists' Coalition 40th Anniversary Exhibit in August — September 2016. Her paintings, collage and photographs are currently on view at Strecker-Nelson-West gallery in Manhattan KS.
