The kitchen table has been complemented with one of our fluorescent lights named the ‘Puma’. These fluorescent tubes were originally used in large factory halls hanging in a row. Placing this Puma as a singular fixture in an entirely different context like a living environment, makes its sophisticated design stand out entirely different.
Doubled tube light fixture from late DDR era

Similar to the Ox and Giraffe, this fluorescent light fixture originates from the late DDR era. Looking at the design and materials, the lamp was most likely designed around the late 1970s, but has been produced up to the eighties. The composite and bakelite ends of the fixture are visually connected by the two glass tubes. These lights were installed in large quantities in order to illuminate areas from great heights.
ORIGIN
These fixtures originate from the abandoned warehouse of a former state-owned cable manufacturer. They hung in one of the factory’s basements, where it illuminated a room for heavy machinery.
RESTORATION
All our lights are restored by hand with the greatest care. As unique piece of heritage, we seek to preserve the light’s authentic appearance. We present the lamp in it’s original finish, or re-finish the light in it’s original color. The lamp has been completely rewired to current standards, and fully assembled and tested to European Legislation, We hope that it may be preserved for many centuries to come.
DETAILS
The Puma can be supplied with either fluorescent or LED tubes in different color temperatures (type of warmth), and in a variety of dimming options. Standard the light comes with 3.0m long cable, 2.0m suspension wires, and black canopy. Other lengths for cable and suspension wires possible on request, please specify in comments at check out. The Puma will be accompanied by its passport, documenting the history and origin of the lamp. 110 volt options, US & Canada wiring, and other specialties are available.
