Figurative work that focuses on the male body in sport and at rest
I grew up in Mid-America and moved to Tennessee for graduate school to earn my masters in fine arts. I sometimes use photographs to spark an emotion, but I primarily work from memory. I investigate my experiences with older men in sport and leisure to asks questions about who the Mid-American white male is in contemporary culture. Furthermore I am interested in how people relate to each other, whether they are within the painting or the relationship is between the viewer and the painting.
