You're all alone, in these Time Passages.
If you have read any of my art stories, you know I am an avid lover of music. Being not so young, I also know many of the wonderful hits from the seventies. For instance, Al Stewart’s Time Passages is one of them.
Have you heard the song? Here is the link to it - Al Stewart Time Passages.
The instrumental intro composed primarily of the electric piano riff starts the song and engages you immediately. Then, Al’s unique sexy soft voice tells the story of the song superbly. Of special note is the solo saxophone which seems to enhance the song as well.
Believe it or not, Al never really cared for this song even though it ranked as the No. 1 Adult Contemporary single of 1979. “Time Passages” was produced by Alan Parsons and was the title track for Stewart's 1978 album release. Additionally, the single reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in December 1978,[1]
My large oil abstract painting that I titled “Time Passages” provides a feeling of tunnels or scratches of time. A painting that invites you in to see through to the many familiar doors of the past. To enter only if you are brave enough to walk down memory lane as the light quickly fades. The painting was created with various size palette knives. If you look closely, you can see sharp lines at a multitude of angles creating depth and movement. I think the painting has a mysterious feel about it, that begs the question – what really happened in those moments of time.
Dare to Feel,
