Abstract Expressionist paintings in oil and acrylic
Ryan Miller has been a professional musician since 1990. A lifelong abstract art enthusiast in need of a non-musical hobby, he began painting along with Bob Ross videos in 2018. Painting quickly became an obsession and he traded landscapes of mighty mountains and happy little trees for abstractions heavily influenced by the post-war expressionists of the New York School.
His paintings are a wide combination of styles in both oil and acrylic. Some works combine repeated patterns with heavy texture and high color contrast, while others are minimalist, using a limited palate. He is always experimenting, pushing his technique and imagination with different combinations of styles and materials.
