I search for signs of life - especially tenacity and fragility. Initial sketched impressions and studies reveal movement from previous postures and forms, lively spontaneous lines, brushstrokes, and washes capture fleeting luminosity, and areas of untouched canvas conserve breath. Within one image, whether a drawing, painting, or collaborative collage, I hope to capture more than one moment, giving the viewer the opportunity to witness the subject's momentary existence.
