Storytelling within the family passing from generation to generation about superstitions and the supernatural particularly in the Hispanic culture has always fascinated me. As a child, the elders would gather the youngest around and have us sit in a circle to hear a story from times past. The majority of these life lesson stories revolved around the importance of family togetherness, what happens to the ones that stray away from family, death, and how to fend oneself from the evil that lurks in the dark. In modern times, film and video have become ways to capture this phenomenon. Orbs have created spiritual awakenings for some and thoughts of extraterrestrial existence for others. These visual documents have given believers and non-believers alike a platform to discuss the supernatural.
