Lanzetta’s work embodies an innovative marriage of digital technology with traditional painting and silkscreening

MARGARET LANZETTA is a New York-based painter best known for abstract, culturally inspired work using digitized motifs drawn from historic textiles, Buddhism, 60’s pop culture, nature and contemporary industry. Lanzetta works with a variety of mediums including painting, silkscreen, and digital photography, and celebrates a thematic interest in saturated color, repetition and pattern.

Lanzetta’s works are represented in the public collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; The British Museum, and The Victoria and Albert Museum, London; the Harvard Art Museums, the Hallmark Art Collection and the Yale University Art Gallery.
Hyperallergic editor John Yau has written, “Lanzetta undermines the sense of order and decorum normally associated with cultural and architectural patterns, transforming the decorative into something far-removed from paradise.”

Lanzetta’s work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, The British Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, The Fogg Museum, Harvard, the Yale University Art Gallery, and numerous corporate and private collections.

Lanzetta was and inaugural recipient of the inaugural Senior Fulbright Global Flex Award, for art practice and research in India, Thailand and Singapore 2016-2019.
