A textured Deep Impasto palette knife painting in oil by an award winning San Francisco Bay artist, featuring a colorful and textured California poppies coastal landscape painting.
This painting was inspired by one of my Plein Air (outdoor) painting trips to the gorgeous region of Lucia, in Big Sur, California. I captured the scene with my palette knives. Back in my studio in the San Francisco Bay, I scaled it up larger, using my California poppy palette of yellows and oranges, to frame the Pacific ocean blues in the background.
