Kimbal is an artist based in South London. His abstract work is material-based and process-led: it explores the notion of layering from both a conceptual and material standpoint. His paintings are records of the passage of time, bearing traces of a dialogue between himself and the materials. His work is playful and colourful, explosive and pensive; translucent layers of varnish and oil paint interact and flow, like the meeting of imaginary worlds, colliding and uniting.⁠
