"Kayo Albert is an artist whose paintings on Mylar are fluid, intuitive, translucent and complex. She works with charcoal, pastel, oil and enamel paints. She is interested in what eyes cannot see – the mind and collective unconscious that unites all of us mysteriously and unknowingly. Being influenced by Carl G. Jung and Joseph Campbell who combined psychology, philosophy, nature and divine inspiration to examine the unseeable, she explores these territories with her art. The physicality of drawing and painting, immersion in the work is an essential process for her. It also allows audiences to share the journey of her experience, often describing her work as intricate, finding new images and notions each time the work is viewed. She was born in Hyogo, Japan, and lives in New York City.
Kayo Albert's work is dynamic and energetic, large but light and semi-translucent thanks to Mylar she works on. She became very active in creating and showing her work for the last two years, participating in an artist community and several group shows in Miami and New York."
