This piece had a different life before it became a custom piece. It started as a piece (with same name) that was entered and juried into a local gallery exhibit celebrating San Diego, which prompted my 2016 “San Diego Love” series. Then it got a lot of attention when it made an appearance in a magazine, and found its perfect home when a designer saw it and knew her client had to own it. It was one of those “meant to be” situations because her client’s home in Bankers Hill looks directly at Mister A’s restaurant and has sweeping views of San Diego and the airplanes flying in. I made some small changes and color tweaks, and this piece looked like it was made just for the dark gray wall it now lives.
