I love New York and the many facets of life. Inspired by a piece of undulating plywood, I chose a landscape format to build the Manhattan urban streetscape with layers upon layers of wood. I felt the curve of the wood connected to the flow of life within the magical cosmopolitan city. With so much detail of the wood textures, I knew a monochromatic palette was ideal to show the sculptural effects. The client fell in love with the artwork after seeing it at the Architectural Digest and Design Show. It now resides in her apartment on Roosevelt Island, NY.
Often people commission me to create from a specific architectural scene, or I love co-creating with them to design a composition of their favourite buildings.
