I was commissioned to create these five large collage paintings for the Kaiser Permanente Hospital located in Vallejo, CA, USA. They depict different fruits and vegetables that are grown in the local area. The backgrounds are made from pieces of torn up local maps, so viewers can find street names or park names that bring a sense of familiarity. The rambling blue ribbon, which represents water or irrigation visually connects each piece and even extends out onto the white mattes. Our Farmers' Treasures; 54x54; Collage of Torn Magazine Papers.
