Inspired by Nature

A prairie native who grew up in Manitoba, Connie O’Connor began painting expansive fields stretching from the horizon to vast blue skies. Her focus has recently shifted to abstract work which has been inspired by her 12-year meditation practise. She is creating a series called ‘In Neutral’ which has a muted palette, varied textures and named with mantras or concepts related to mindfulness. Her interest in and love for the arts began early through sewing and continued with post-secondary university to become a teacher. After her retirement from an inspiring 34-year career teaching students to create and express themselves in fashion design, textiles and foods Connie began her art practise.
