Reflections - Paintings

Starts at $1,100

The inspiration for this piece came from the French countryside.

Actually, it is a conflation in my imagination between the best of Spring with the lime green and the most vibrant color of autumn, orange. This empowering duo conveys a lot of energy to the onlooker and is offset by the blues and whites in the negative spaces of the painting. The texture and work with the palette knife accentuates the dynamic element of this vibrant landscape.

Why is it called "Reflections"? To me, it represents the literal reflections of the trees into the pond but also their impact across the pond onto our minds and hearts. The mood is both stimulating and invigorating but also meditative. I hope it will be for you as well!

Re-imagined Landscapes

Painting for me is an intuitive transcription of a wave of emotion that traverses me when I encounter a view that strikes my soul. These views often take the form of landscapes but I think of landscapes as a loose word for any type of horizon where subjects emerge and engage the onlooker. For me, in fact, each landscape, sometimes imagined, re-imagined, or even dreamed, is a window of experimentation with different materials, shapes, colors, and textures. I primarily work with oil and cold wax because it allows me to play with negative spaces and to let serendipitous alchemies of colors morph under my palette knife. Every work is an opportunity to work out a puzzle that I see at the center of each composition. In my art, I focus on fluid spaces, vibrant colors, and timeless compositions: modern paintings with a French eye!
