The messenger of peace is an aspirational piece expressing my yearning for a peaceful world.

The unrest and fear pervading the world today evoked deep anguish and despair, this propelled me to express my thought and desire for a peaceful world. From the depths of this pain emerges the hope of a world that embraces beauty and diversity. Just as the sun’s warming rays envelop the earth (represented here as the lotus flower) and other circumambulating planets, the dream is of a universe enveloped in the human circle of love. Here, the golden winged dove, the eternal symbol of peace & harbinger of hope and joy, guide us to that incredible, golden richness that can only be the result of peaceful, all embracing hearts.

The joy of art is not what you see but what you feel.

“Art can penetrate the deepest part of us where no words exist”.

Ashima has been working at the cutting edge of Graphic Design and Visual Art. Her creative works are an exploration of the world around her. Inspired by traditional art form she has developed her own style of contemporary art using pen, ink, water colour and technology to realise mixed- media artworks.

Her work is often considered a fine example of what possibilities happen when you pair clean, strong forms with a powerful message. Her effort has been to showcase how, with the use of bold and rule-breaking visual language, graphic design can inspire and be a vital element in the growth of businesses and also in nudging public perceptions in desirable ways. Her artworks are translation of her dreams and what touches her soul. That is why art to her is ‘Dream, Doodle, Design’. She translates her thoughts and narrates the story into patterns and composition using fine line drawings (doodles) and colours.

Her art has not only been displayed at art exhibitions but has also struck a chord with organizations seeking to build/extend their brand identity.

An absolute sensory and tactile delight, her therapeutic doodle art workshops lead to free expression of self, happiness and rejuvenation. The ‘Doodle Art Workshops for Mindfulness’ were born out of deep personal exploration and research into doodle art. Over the years, Ashima has developed a unique personal style that fuses doodle art with traditional and digital media. She utilises elements from this style to impart tools for well-being. The workshops help discover unconscious thoughts, improve focus and enhance cognition. In the process the participants experiences reduced levels of stress. The tools provided are meditative and expressive in nature and lead to an overall sense of well-being and accomplishment.

She completed her ‘Bachelor of Fine Arts’ degree from the prestigious College of Art, Delhi, India in 1993. Since then, she has set up her eponymous design studio and has successfully conceptualized, designed and executed several prestigious corporate and social projects.
