Nebulous was created in 2015 as part of a project at Cardiff MADE Gallery & The National Museum of Wales. This work is part of 3 paintings created in response to the art collection of the museum and with particular focus on the Francis Bacon painting: 'Study For Self Portrait' (1963). Myers was interested in the human form having focused on figurative anatomy in life drawing school during this time.
This painting was very gestural and used mark-making approaches to create an exciting, active painting. Myers is interested in the energy that a painting can create, whilst allowing the composition to allude towards figurative elements.
