To Bring Peace is the first of a new, ongoing series of coastal inspired paintings created primarily to convey a sense of relaxation.

My mission is to express and share the serene, calming energy that the ocean gives me. I feel so at peace and at home when walking near, watching, and listening to the ocean waves. I felt it while creating this painting too…no struggle, just peace.

The painting is 36x36 inches, oil and wax, on cradled wood panel. Artist signature and hanging wire installed on back of wood panel.

Starting price is based on a 30x30 inch commissioned painting

My paintings are inspired by nature — inner and outer.

Melanie Biehle is driven by the power of art as energy. Her paintings are portals that beckon the viewer to turn inward.

The artist grew up in rural Louisiana and has lived on the west coast for most of her adult life. She currently lives in the Seattle area with her husband, son, and pets.

“Working with paint is more soothing than motherhood or Hollywood.”

Melanie became a painter in her 40s, after becoming a writer, a mother, and an interior and lifestyle photographer. Before that, she worked in Los Angeles as a film marketer and also optioned her romantic comedy screenplay.

“My paintings are inspired by nature — inner and outer.”

The artist has a Master’s degree in psychology, and her longtime obsession with the mind and emotions reveals itself through her abstract expressionist paintings. Melanie studied abstract painting and composition at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle. She lists artists Richard Diebenkorn, Lee Krasner, and Joan Mitchell as major inspirations.
