Item details

The Danish Defense asked me to do a mural in their barracks. There is a wavy feel to the work spreading across 50ft. It's a gicleé print mounted directly on the pivoting doors. Like a unique wallpaper at home.
The composition is made of thousands of small pieces or bricks. Individually they are quiet anonymous, but together they make up a giant pattern that affects the space in a vibrant way....a metaphor for people standing together can accomplish great things....

The title, "Double structure, sometimes repeated", Gicleé print mounted on pivoting doors, 50 X 9ft.

Visual artist Troels Aagaard has a MFA-degree from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art. He is based in Copenhagen; capital of design-addicted Denmark. He has done numerous commissions in public spaces, including hospitals and hotels.
Represented by Galerie MøllerWitt in Copenhagen, the gallery scene is not unfamiliar to him.

Troels Aagaard finds inspiration in the small details of everyday life. Whether it's music or nature; what strikes him is almost always the basic structures of things. As a saxophone-solo by legendary John Coltrane or the lines in a falling leave..structure is one of the key-elements of understanding our surroundings.
Trying to tell abstract stories through paint....
