“Freedom Boulevard" by Thierry Noir is the public artist’s newest and largest work to date. Located in the North Hollywood Arts District in Los Angeles and commissioned by building owner MWest Holdings, Noir’s mural at the Lofts at NoHo Commons covers much of the building and is painted in Noir’s “Fast Form Manifest” style, which he developed in Berlin during the 1980s and featured his signature elongated heads in profile.
Known worldwide for his brave disobedience during the Cold War in illegally painting miles of the Berlin Wall, French-born Noir’s work stands as a symbol of freedom and an act of defiance against walls, borders and persecution.
