The owners of a local coffee shop in Claremont, California reached out to Shane in early 2021 with a commission for a mural that they wanted to be painted in the industrial-style roasting room in their coffee shop. Both the mural and the roasting room, though not accessible to guests, would be viewable through a window in the shop wall. Shane worked with the owners who wanted a design that celebrates the farmers who work in the fields to cultivate the beans that are shipped to and roasted at Lucky’s. The mural features a close up of a farmer harvesting coffee beans surrounded by Shane’s iconic burst of florals–this time coffee plant flowers that fade off to the right and to the left. The mural was well-received by guests who appreciated the beautiful nod to this essential, yet often unseen and under-appreciated element of coffee house culture.
