Fish Story Art Deco Mural
The Fish Story mural is a medium sized mural in an Art Deco style, part of the Downtown Hollywood Mural Projects.
Georgeta noticed that the lower portion of the wall looked like a geometrically stylized large fish and the whole wall
reminded her of Art Deco style architecture. She then found out from the owner of the SASA Cafe Italiano, that the space assigned for this public mural project was, indeed, added to the house in the 1930s during the time when the Art Deco movement developed into a major style in the United States. The mural represents a large stylized fish and a sea with undulating waves. Georgeta gave it the suggestive title “Fish Story”. The Art Deco round window in the center of the wall was transformed into a sun with sunshine radiating from the center outwards. This 2016 mural was Awarded by the City of Hollywood and located at SASA Cafe Italiano, 2001 Van Buren St, Hollywood, Florida.
