Meet the Creator

"Jamie’s landscape paintings developed from gritty etchings, monoprints and drawings of urban landscapes, mostly done in black and white, during graduate work in printmaking at CCAC (MFA, 1987.) Summer holidays on the coast of Maine provided a venue for plein air watercolors. And more recently oils have become a mainstay in capturing the accessible variety of San Francisco Bay Area natural beauty. Jamie has also created numerous public art murals both in an educational capacity, for many schools and notably commissions for The Creative Work Fund (1997) and Highland Hospital’s Pediatric Center (2003), as well as collaboratively with other artists, namely commissions for the I.L.W.U. (1986) and the new Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center (2006). He resides and maintains a studio in Oakland, CA.'
