“Six Ways to Draw Attention"

$23,000

"Six Ways to Draw Attention", Latex acrylic paint on aluminum, 75 x 14 ft. Artist Erik Burke assisted by Dave Kim commissioned by the City of Las Vegas for the Cultural Affairs' "Contemporary Public Art Program" for this mural in this largest and most active Fire & Rescue building in Vegas. 6 Ways to Draw Attention is in reference to each of the 6 bay door drawings but also to the 6 units behind those doors ready to be drawn at any moment. The doors serve as the space between as attention can be drawn inward or outward. The content of the mural is a merging of firefighters and the uniqueness of cacti in this environment. By overlaying the imagery it places the attributes of cacti on the figures.
