Item Details
Bay Area artist Clare Rojas designed the public amphitheater in front of the UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay with a mosaic of vivid, geometric shapes featuring hummingbirds. To her, the hummingbird is a symbol of regeneration and love.
"For this piece, I used the symbol of the hummingbird, representing the healing power of hope, love, joy, and being present in the moment. The hummingbird is said to embody the healing properties of the flowers and herbs that are pollinated as the bird nourishes its being. This piece is meant to embrace and reflect the healing energy of the hummingbird, color, movement, and nature."
