Elevator wall with signage to the rooftop. The elevator wall is three of five and measures 12’ x 18’. Located in building 1 with tenants such as Splendid and Shopify.

The five permanent site specific pieces were inspired by the Joshua Tree landscape. Last February, I started illustrating patterns based of the architectural details from a photo I took in Berlin to create various patterns to utilize in the Vortex shapes and sub series titled, 'Vortex Overlay'. I applied this process to the Joshua Tree photography taken with a Phase One 100MP camera for wall 1 by illustrating patterns based off of the boulders and landscape in the photos. The patterns were developed after creating a series of them and manipulating them to see which worked cohesively within the Vortex shapes.

This project was commissioned by with Preen Inc. and received a Hospitality Design Magazine award in 2019 in the Public Space, Select-Service Category.

Color, nature, architecture, topography amalgamation

I am a Belgian born multi-disciplinary designer and artist residing in the Arts District, Los Angeles.

I focus on the exploration of color, topography, geometry, nature, and architectural amalgamation. I am constantly creating multiple pieces in various media simultaneously, fueling the velocity to my creativity as I sway between the commercial and fine art worlds.

Besides taking a few art classes in high school and college electives, I am a self-taught artist and received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing and Real Estate from Florida Atlantic University. After a twelve year career in marketing for architecture and real estate firms, I ventured off to start my own company in 2017, Caroline Geys Design Studio, as a fine artist and freelance designer, and the many shades of the spectrum in between. Both careers have provided me with a wonderful range of opportunities and collaborations with various types of brands, small business clients and collectors, and large organizations in both the public and private sectors.

Since living in Los Angeles, I have created several public works of permanent and temporary art installations, and exhibited in galleries.

Recent project highlights include; Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Reebok, Dunn-Edwards Paints, Benjamin Moore Paints in association with Wescover and American Society of Interior Designers, Los Angeles Design Festival, ROW DTLA, City of Los Angeles, Arts District Brewing Company, MASAYA Boutique, Folklore Salon & Barber, Unita Club, Coachella in association with TRASHed, Standard Hotel - Hollywood, Beautify Earth, and StandardVision.
