During the pandemic, Caroline has painted three murals in her and her husband's loft in the Arts District after moving from the Historic Core downtown in March. Caroline has been painting and drawing abstract elephants for the last ten years. Most of their frames are created subconsciously and once she notices their intended shape, their individuality becomes
more clear.
Olifanten translates to elephants in Flemish - her native language. Several pieces from different series include Olifant in the title. Recently, she discovered that there are many interpretations of what elephants symbolize throughout the world and for different places they can have different interpretations. Overall, they are considered positive symbols focusing on good luck, protection, patience, and wisdom.

Color, nature, architecture, topography amalgamation

I am a Belgian born multi-disciplinary designer and artist residing in the Arts District, Los Angeles.

I focus on the exploration of color, topography, geometry, nature, and architectural amalgamation. I am constantly creating multiple pieces in various media simultaneously, fueling the velocity to my creativity as I sway between the commercial and fine art worlds.

Besides taking a few art classes in high school and college electives, I am a self-taught artist and received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing and Real Estate from Florida Atlantic University. After a twelve year career in marketing for architecture and real estate firms, I ventured off to start my own company in 2017, Caroline Geys Design Studio, as a fine artist and freelance designer, and the many shades of the spectrum in between. Both careers have provided me with a wonderful range of opportunities and collaborations with various types of brands, small business clients and collectors, and large organizations in both the public and private sectors.

Since living in Los Angeles, I have created several public works of permanent and temporary art installations, and exhibited in galleries.

Recent project highlights include; Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Reebok, Dunn-Edwards Paints, Benjamin Moore Paints in association with Wescover and American Society of Interior Designers, Los Angeles Design Festival, ROW DTLA, City of Los Angeles, Arts District Brewing Company, MASAYA Boutique, Folklore Salon & Barber, Unita Club, Coachella in association with TRASHed, Standard Hotel - Hollywood, Beautify Earth, and StandardVision.
