Brecht Wright Gander’s concrete Occlusion Wall, a large-scale, abstract architectural mural, is composed of a series of custom cast concrete tiles. Gander has been featured in Architectural Digest, Sight Unseen, Apartment Therapy, Design Milk, and the New York Times. In addition, Gander was a finalist for “Emerging Designer of the Year” in 2018 at NYCxDesign.

Meet the Creator

"Birnam Wood Studio was founded by Brecht Gander in 2017. With a background in the highest level of craftsmanship and fine woodwork, his studio treats functionality as a ground plane for aesthetic play. Birnam’s research-driven practice is rooted in experiment and experience, mallet and chisel, fine craft and restless exploration.

Since launching in 2017 Brecht’s work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Sight Unseen, Apartment Therapy, the New York Times, Residence, Revista Exclama, Leibal, Design Milk, Interior Design Magazine, Husk and elsewhere.

Brecht was a 2018 Emerging Designer of the Year Honoree at NYCxDesign."
