Rimrock is a small cluster of homes and ranches, just 10 minutes up the winding road from Pioneertown and about 30 minutes from Joshua Tree. I found myself there to visit Rimrock Ranch, an 11-acre ranch built as a retreat for western movie stars like Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. It’s rustic cabins, lodge, vintage Airstreams and modern Hatch House now serve as vacation rentals and in spring of 2018, the place where I’ll be getting married. Something about the place’s history, the mix of new and old and the remote desert location gave me the good kind of shivers the entire time I was there.
The Rimrock Quilt is inspired by this tucked away place, up in the hills north of Joshua Tree. Using minimal shapes that feel fresh yet familiar mimics the vibe of Rimrock, with colors and materials that are comfortable and inviting, but still a little rugged.
Four sizes available:
Crib: 40” x 48”, perfect for a little one
Throw: 60” x 72", great for snuggling on the couch
Queen: 90” x 96”, fits a full or queen size bed
King: 104” x 110”, fits a full or queen size bed
Top: linen cotton chambray with charcoal and peach cotton
Binding: ivory linen cotton
Back: unbleached cotton
Batting: thick unbleached US-grown cotton
Machine pieced, quilted and bound
Care: Machine wash delicate in cold water with a gentle detergent. Tumble dry low or hang to dry.
Add a hanging sleeve to turn your quilt into a piece of wall art. The sleeve is made with the same fabric as the quilt back and lies flat when not hanging, so you can still use it as a quilt.
