A Barro Negro lamp in this cozy scene from a Bonesteel Trout Hall interior. The matte black clay – known as barro negro – from which these lamps are made is exclusive to Oaxaca, Mexico. Created in our workshop in the small town of San Bartolo Coyotepec, we drew inspiration for the shape from ancient mezcaleros, the traditional vessels used to transport and store mezcal.
