Assembly fabric by Margo Selby, was designed as a collaboration with international furniture brand Decca and Bert Frank for the ‘London Collection.’ The collaboration, featuring the City Gull Wing sofa designed by Robbie Llewellyn of Bert Frank, and Assembly fabric by Margo Selby, was awarded BEST CONTEMPORARY DESIGN by FX Design Magazine at Decorex 2018. Assembly features a 1.5 x 2 metre repeat which has been designed so that the abstract coloured blocks can work when the fabric is cut and joined at any point. The luxurious dual-purpose fabric has an even balance between warp and weft and a finish that resembles needlepoint embroidery. ‘I wanted to create a vivid fabric with an oversized abstract repeat that is evocative of large format hand woven Lampas weaving like that found in my artworks. The scale of the pattern and size of the repeat will result in each application feeling very unique.’
