Brooklyn Heights Greek Revival, No. 3 - Interior Design

This project is the second historic home in a row of Greek Revival town homes that we have recently worked on. We learned from our experience during the first renovation that a complete structural rehab would be required. While the design aesthetic was approached with a modern intention, much of the original detailing was restored or reinterpreted to retain aspects of the classic beauty of the original house.

The kitchen, the nucleus of the house, faces north, which would traditionally limit the amount of natural light received by the interior. To make the most of the available light, a floor-to-ceiling steel frame bay window was added, connecting to the uniquely appointed garden and adding just the right amount of floor space for a custom dining bench. In addition to the bench, many of the furniture pieces are custom or recovered. All of the furnishings were selected and/or designed by CWB's own interior design team.

This project was featured in The American House: 100 Contemporary Homes and NYC&G and won a Remodelista Considered Design Award.
