Wedding venues can be a challenge to design because the area needs to cater to a wide variety of people with different tastes, all trying to envision their differently themed weddings in the space.
The design of this interior was inspired by old world romance. I thought of a modern take on a beautiful fairy tale wedding venue.
This was a challenge because the space use to be a golf cart storage and workshop space. This new vision consisted of exposed wood, mixed metals, floral patterns and many different textures. This space was blessed with beautiful existing wooden beams which were left uncovered. This feature was used as a basis for the rest of the design.
I chose large, elegant chandeliers, and wood and metal pendants for general lighting.
The bar consisted of hammered copper and beautiful mirror tiles to reflect the light from the hanging candle pendants and large doors that lead out onto the back patio
I used textured floral wallpaper in the washrooms and bridal suite as well as different textiles to again exude my vision of old world romance.

Meet the Creator

Interior Designer rooted in the belief that the relationship between form and function are an inegral part of good design

When designing an interior, I always try and view myself as the person who will use the area on a daily basis. Having the ability to visualize myself maneuvering through the space is detrimental to understanding how the average person will interact with their surroundings.
I strongly believe that good design is for everyone, as living and working in beautiful spaces directly contribute to happier and healthier individuals. Being able to be a part of creating beautiful surroundings for others to enjoy continues to be the reason why design is such an integral part of my life.
