In the Dark Jellyfish, acrylic ink on paper, 15 x 12 in., 2014.
This is an acrylic ink drawing based on a photograph of a glass jellyfish sculpture. The photograph was taken in the dark with a spotlight on it, allowing the forms of the jellyfish to light up against a black background. With this drawing I wanted to capture the fine details of the sculpture. The resulting image is appears almost abstracted, while also being representational.
