Item Details
This desk was crafted from a locally salvaged cherry tree. The tree was an ornamental yard tree that had grown too big and too old and had become a danger to the property. A graft line is visible towards the end of the board where the ornamental cherry was grafted onto a different cherry rootstock. Two boards, cut sequentially from the tree, were joined to form the L shape. A curved piece of inlaid glass makes for a practical writing surface and serves to echo the design of the desk.
