Maki Yamamoto Textile Studio is an entirely modern 21st century artisan atelier rooted in inspiration from the ancient arts of Japan.
High-end fabrics are Maki Yamamoto’s canvas. She artfully embellishes luxury textiles with painterly motifs or dressmaker details. Her freehand precision produces distinctive design techniques that include hand-painted fabrics, modern embroidery, hand-stitching, graphic contemporary appliqué, pleating, ruffles and fiber ties and twists to name a few, as only couture level workmanship can do.
Maki is dedicated to designing personalized works made especially for individual projects with the nation’s top interior designers. Her commissions include couture textiles for Peter Marino Architect, Brian J. McCarthy, Amy Lau Design, Stephens Design Group and Wesley Moon, among others.
