This earthy, hand-folded, taupe clay mug is the perfect cup for your morning tea or coffee. It is wonderful for cold drinks as well.
What’s special about these handle-less mugs is the portrait images that I have hand-carved using the sgraffito* technique on the outside. Each cup has a different portrait of a beautiful person from a different culture from somewhere in the world.

Hand-built from a slab
Hand-carved design using sgraffito* technique
Clear, non-toxic, matte glaze
Fired in the kiln at 1200 degrees Celsius
Height: 5-1/2" //13.5 cm
Diameter: 3-1/2" // 9 cm
*Sgraffito: a form of decoration made by scratching through a surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting color, typically done in plaster or stucco on walls, or in slip-on ceramics before firing.
Materials: gray stoneware, matt glaze, porcelain slip.
