The Southern Asian origins of Longsong are echoed in the narrative of this
installation. The Chang Mai lantern festival annual event sees the release of
thousands of flaming lanterns to usher in the luck of the person who releases it.
Each of the 85 individual components represents good wishes and fortune. The LED
lamp mimics a flame effect and is housed in a canvas “balloon”

As a graduate of the prestigious Florence Design Academy in Italy, Jan has worked across the globe on commissions in Milan, Turin, Australia and New Zealand for multiple top design organisations
He has received numerous scholarships and awards in Australia, UK, Japan, the US, Italy and France, including the Art in Public Spaces Award, The Distinguished Furniture Award and the prestigious International Luminaire Design Award.
