Meet the Creator

"RUIZSOLAR, architectural firm established in 2006 by Matias Ruiz (architect) and Eric Solar (civil engineer) has focused its work on the development and construction of architectural projects in the private and public area. Its work has reached international recognition and has been published on architectural specialized books.
The firm defines itself as an architectural and building exploration lab where design is approached in unison with the best construction technological means available today. It’s on this search that RUIZSOLAR design line, headed by Matias Ruiz and with a clear position towards simplicity and the exaltation of forms, is born. Due to its line of work they were selected to participate on the Chile Architecture Biennial 2013 organized by the Universidad Católica de Chile and the Universidad del Desarrollo, being awarded with the first prize in the “Luz para la Vivienda” (Light for Housing) competition,. They also participated with its product “StickLamp L120” on the lighting competition organized by the Satellite Venue Milan 2013, where they were awarded with the first honorable mention given to a Chilean design on this contest.
