Tableware for The Fork and Cork restaurant in Malta

Item details

Set of bowls with 'cracked' border were created for the Fork and Cork restaurant. The overall decor of the restaurant was Mediterranean rustic, but the food itself has a modern twist. Therefore, I worked together with the chef to come up with a design concept that would be in keeping with the appearance of the restaurant as well as elevate the dishes. my inspiration came from the texture of cracked eggshells.

Handmade contemporary ceramics for restaurants and home

Hi, my name is Tiziana. I’m a Maltese ceramicist and I’ve been hooked on working with clay ever since I was 11. I love working with clay due to its versatility and tactile nature. I am spurred on by curiosity and love to experiment with different forms and glazes. I draw inspiration from nature and my foodie travels.

Mainly self-taught, I’ve worked in studios in Edinburgh and East London. I love to try out different techniques including raku for my sculptures, and anagama for vases. I work mainly on the pottery wheel, and my favorite material to use is stoneware. All tableware pieces are food and dishwasher safe.

A recent throwing course I attended at La Meridiana Ceramic School in Italy has enabled me to cultivate my technique on throwing larger forms.

I am currently based in Tallinn, where I produce tableware for restaurants and cafes, as well as home-ware items which are sold in a few stores in Tallinn, London and Malta. I love to collaborate with chefs and food enthusiasts on projects such as pop-up supper clubs in London - Edit Supper Club.
