The Arch Bench is designed to symbolize the landscape of southern Utah.
Carved out of a solid hunk of Douglas Fir, these benches are hefty! The blanks are shaped by hand using a chainsaw and other power tools, then cleaned up with chisels and sanders.
The cracks known as "checking", are a natural condition of the wood as its moisture content changes. Checks are not likely to compromise the piece but will expand over time.
There is no finish applied to these benches which allows them to age with the use or if left outside, to gray. This also gives you the opportunity to apply a finish or stain of your choice.
