Nick Lopez is a third generation craftsman and native of California. Under the guidance of his father he developed a unique and varied skill set as a builder and woodworker.
In 2006, Lopez began designing and creating functional art and home furnishings from reclaimed wood, much of it out of old growth California Redwood. The materials used were salvaged from barns, decks, and fencing, with the idea of eliminating waste and transforming such material into something beautiful.
For the past 16 years, Lopez has designed and created a signature body of work, comprising of case goods and sculpture. His private commissions, using different materials such as concrete, terrazzo, plaster, and wood, gracefully blend the Modernist tradition with a distinct sense of California style and meticulous craftsmanship.
