Fiber is where it's at

There's not a fiber I don't already like and probably already use. As a visual artist, I work in partnership with my materials, their purposes, values and familiar associations. I generally use a needle and thread to articulate the accumulated memory inherent in these discarded things. I stitch both by hand and machine to express themes of memory and a legacy in fabric. I am drawn to textiles for their tactile qualities and often make work that is meant to touch and be touched.
