This is a hand-carved, white stoneware ceramic decorative tile made from a quality slab of clay. It's a unique art decor for walls.
I hand formed the clay and then, using the sgraffito* technique, I carved images into the slip brushed over moist clay. First I scratched a drawing of an elegant elderly woman from the back view, and then on the lady's shirt underneath - a group of teal-painted silhouettes of dancers.
I made the tile specifically to be hung on the wall as ceramic wall decor for any room in your home. But this piece will also look lovely on a sturdy plate stand on a shelf or even a fireplace mantel...

* Fired in a kiln at 1200 degrees Celsius
