Very excited to share my latest Great Escape commission in charcoal, blues to greys in ombré dark to light effect. After a studio visit, we discussed different options and finally choose colors that specifically suited my clients' lounge interior.
Whether finally escaping the confines of their chrysalis for their first flight or escaping colder climates on their annual butterfly migration to warmer shores, I wanted to convey a sense of both freedom and chaos whilst ironically also creating an artwork with a sense of peace and calm.
The 3-dimensional aspect creates beautiful shadows which give the artwork a real sense of movement – a life of its own – and changes throughout the day in changing light situations. I have used gorgeous papers, many with sheens and glitters & multiple 24crt gold leaf butterflies which adds to this effect and gives it sparkle and preciousness.
